about

When I was young the stories of war always compelled me in a very solemn way. The story that stuck with me most was one starring my own Great Grandfather and the notorious Canadian battle of Vimy Ridge. After the war my great grandfather was no longer the same man that left my family those years before, he was different. When he was shaving one night, after WW1 had ended, he saw the number 99 in his sink and to him this number signified the Devil of war. I believe coming home from war would be a terrible thing, and my understanding is that it follows you.

lyrics

Change,
Is coming quick.
You’re mad at me,
Cause I’m different.
I’m not alone,
So I’ll keep my eyes down and embrace my new home.

Tell me, tell me
What to say.
I swore I lived.
My souls in pain.
He’s here for me, calls for me.
Your subject matters hard to see.
Tell me tell me
What to think.
I’ve got my devil in my sink.
He’s here for me, calls for me.
Your subject matters disgusting.

I guess I’ll bow down.
Driving my whole life
We don’t got it going on now.
We don’t got it going on, going on now.
This ain’t authentic,
But my finger on the trigger like I really meant it.
Turn it up, turn it down
It’s hot in this place now.

Tell me, tell me
What to say.
I swore I lived.
My worlds in flames.
He’s here for me, calls for me.
Your subject matters hard to see.
Tell me tell me
What to think.
I’ve got my devil in my sink.
He’s here for me, calls for me.
Your subject matters disgusting.

My name reminds my father of the best days in his life.
My name reminds the others of what it’s like to wanna die.
Said “99”
You took my family time.
I’m fucking crazy,
But it’s just fine.

Help me,
Why am I living?
Help me,
Be forgiven.
